Staphylococcus aureus (staph) is a common bacteria that can cause infections in various parts of the body, but most commonly in the skin. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is antibiotic resistant, which makes it more difficult to treat and more likely to develop into a severe infection.
