Pericarditis - All Articles

Pericarditis is inflammation of a fluid-filled sac surrounding the heart called the pericardium. Contact a doctor upon noticing pericarditis symptoms like stabbing chest pain, breathing difficulties while lying down, or palpitations. Medications can treat pericarditis, but surgery may be necessary if fluid fills the pericardium and restricts heart function.
