Kawasaki Disease

Kawasaki disease is a rare type of blood vessel inflammation that most often develops in young children and leads to easily damaged blood vessels and organ complications, especially if it affects arteries around the heart. Doctors treat Kawasaki disease in the hospital using immune globulin (IVIG), IV fluids, medications, steroids, and anticoagulants.
