How Well Is Your Atopic Dermatitis Treatment Working?

If you have atopic dermatitis, a form of eczema, you’re probably used to having flare-ups of itchy skin. For some people, the rash subsides relatively quickly, but others experience more intense symptoms that take longer to disappear.
While it’s not uncommon for atopic dermatitis symptoms to wax and wane over time, you don’t have to settle for care that's just good enough. After all, the goal is to reduce your symptoms as much as possible.
“There’s a big toolbox that dermatologists have to choose from,” says Marisa Garshick, MD, a clinical assistant professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical Center and dermatologist at MDCS Dermatology in New York City. And because there are so many treatment options for eczema, you’ll need to work with your doctor to find the right one for you. “It’s not one size fits all,” Dr. Garshick says. “What works for one person may not work for you.”
Take this quiz to gauge how well your current medication is working, including whether you should stay the course with your current treatment or try something different.
