Down Syndrome

Down syndrome occurs when a person has an extra copy of chromosome 21, developing distinct physical and facial features and an increased risk of certain congenital health problems.

Treatment depends on a person’s physical needs, symptoms, and strengths, but it sometimes includes educational support and speech, physical, or occupational therapies.
